Spend free time on your own to enjoy the Christkindlesmarkt or relax by the fire’s glow in a Viennese cafe this evening. Places to visit in Hungary:

Budapest – the country’s capital city is a must-see. If you only had one place to travel to in Hungary it would be Budapest. Here you can get a glimpse into the history and future of the country.
The Caves of Lillafüred – located in the Bükk Mountains, a popular spa destination, it is a unique attraction for its limestone caves. A fascinating place to explore and a quick walk from the town.
Hortobágy National Park – if you want to see quintessential Hungary, then a visit to the eastern corner is a must. This vast area of plains and wetlands is home to a diverse range of animals, including herds of horses roaming about.
Szentendre – also known as St. Andrews, is a charming town complete with cobblestone streets, artsy stores and colourful Baroque houses. Spend a day wandering this picturesque town and exploring its shops and cafes.
