The 297 rooms of the resort are gently sheltered by a garden of exotic tropical plants.
All rooms offer a stunning ambiance where white elegant tranquil shades are slightly enhanced by both natural and sparkling tones. This is a totally new fresh tropical feel with furniture, fabrics and material fitting these tones to give a modern and peaceful feel to each room.

 

Room Facilities
All rooms come with 42’’ flat-screen TVs with satellite programmes (sports and entertainment, international news and kids’ channels, in English, French, German and Italian); international directdial telephones; Wifi access, digital clocks, radios, electronic room safes, hairdryers, individually controlled air-conditioning and electrical shaver points (110/220 volts). All rooms have mini-bars and tea & coffee making facilities.

 

DINING

The resort offers a selection of restaurants and bars to tantalise and satisfy any appetite. Our main restaurant, Indigo, caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner with an all-encompassing buffet. Or you can make your way towards the water’s edge and dine under the stars at our beach restaurant, La Plage. Otherwise if you’re in the mood for some continental flavours, you can frequent Dolce Vita for a delicious Italian menu. Get your cocktail fix and let your hair down at The Coral Bar, The Pub or our night club, Shakers.

 

SPA
In the south corner of the hotel, the Spa is a soothing retreat, with four treatment rooms, a hammam, a sauna and a jacuzzi. one exterior kiosk allows you to enjoy a relaxing treatment while overlooking the sea. At the Spa, a dedicated team of therapists deliver a selection of massages. Personalised packages are available, under the guidance of experienced therapists. A Beauty Parlour is also available.

Ambre guests have a preferential access to  Le Touessrok Golf Club, beautiful par-72 championship course designed by Bernhard Langer, on Ile aux Cerfs up the coast. There is also a Golf Academy on the golf course which offers a state-of-the-art teaching and practice facility.
A complimentary shuttle service from the resort to  Le Touessrok Golf Club is available.

HISTORY

Claimed by the Dutch in the year 1598, and occupied by the French between 1715 and 1810, Mauritius was ruled by Great Britain from 1814 after the Treaty of Paris. The island gained independence from Britain in 1968 and became a Republic in 1992.

 

 

LANGUAGE

Due to its multicultural diversity, Mauritius boasts a number of spoken languages. The majority of the population is bilingual, fluent in both English and French. Creole and French are the main languages of the island.

 

 

CULTURE

Diverse ethnic groups make up the population of Mauritius. The island is blessed with a tropical climate. Summer is from November to May, during this period the temperature varies between 22 °C and 35 °C. Winter is from May to November with a temperature variance between 17 °C and 26 °C. The sea temperature varies between 22 °C and 26 °C.

 

 

BANKING HOURS

Monday to Thursday: 9.15 am – 3.15 pm, Friday: 9.15 am -3.30 pm, Saturday: 9.15 am -11.15 am. Banks are also open to coincide with the arrival and departure of international flights at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport.
