Destination Weddings Mauritius, Seychelles & Zanzibar

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in a destination wedding?
At most resorts and venues there are a choice of wedding packages available that are for the bride and groom, unless otherwise stated. Family and friends can be invited to your wedding and packages can be prepared for them on request.

What kind of ceremony will it be?
Most wedding ceremonies are non-denominational services conducted by a Registrar, Minister, Justice of the Peace or Notary.

Are the wedding ceremonies legal?
Yes, they are legal.

What day of the week do wedding ceremonies take place?
Most ceremonies take place from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

What documentation is required for a destination wedding ceremony?
Please refer to documentation required per destination as legal requirements are set by the different countries.

How much notice is required to arrange a wedding?
As much notice as possible. Most destinations require your documentation at least 12 weeks in advance. Always try to have a back up date in mind just in case your first choice is not available.

What should we wear for our wedding?
Brides may want to wear a light, cotton-weight, dress for an island wedding as a traditional wedding dress may be unbearably hot. Grooms could opt for a lightweight, light coloured suit.

Are hairdressing and beauty services available?
These services are available at most hotels that we offer wedding packages at or alternatively at neighbouring hotels. These services do come at an extra cost, so please enquire when requesting your wedding package information.
